Mens Shed Launched At the Christmas Market
Collinstown Men’s Shed came of age this week with a beautiful Display as part of their participation in Collinstown Christmas Market.
The Shed is just over a year old and this was its maiden outing and launch into public view and it was achieved despite the shed, where the group meet and work, being out of use for most of the year due to Covid 19. The Shedders have a vision which goes beyond their own wellbeing. It includes a vision for the Village itself which is being driven by supporting and working with groups like Collinstown Action Group, Collinstown Tidy Towns, The Age Friendly Initiative and Collinstown Hall Committee, as well as the local GAA Club. The Shedders welcome connections with other local groups too.
As part of its vision to enhance the village visually and environmentally, the Shedders distributed Wildflower Seed Bombs to all and sundry at the Market and also presented some to Collinstown Tidy Towns, Collinstown Hall Committee and the local GAA Club for seeding of wildflowers at strategic locations around the village.
This was made possible by the financial support of Westmeath County Council Festivals And Events Grant Scheme 2020 Round 2.
