Look, what's in Collinstown.....
The official launch of collinstown.ie took place on Monday 25th March. This project is an integral part of our village action plan which was launched last summer.
Communication is a key element in any village and this website it is a platform for communication locally and globally - reaching the diaspora.
The site is an online notice board about Collinstown, what's in Collinstown and what's happening in Collinstown. There is a page dedication for each club, tourism information, calendar of events, bus timeables and much more. This content is on a website, accessible by everyone with access to the internet - it is not limited to one social media platform and the people that have signed up to that and in that way this is an age friendly project.
Thank you to Westmeath County Council who gave us access to the domain name and supported us in the set up of the site. Thank you to Manchán Magan who wrote a lovely article on tourism in the area, to Fr.Patrick who gave so much information on the history and general running of the parish. To all the community groups who provided information and are willing to make this project a success. Thank you to all members of Collinstown Action Group who contributed articles and photos for the site. To Mary Duffy for her continuing work on the overseeing of the website.
This website project will benefit the community of Collinstown for many years to come and was only made possible by the expertise and time given towards it.
A huge thank you to Damian Duffy, who built the site, organised redirects with the council, set our the layout, made the countless changes that we asked him for that has made collInstown.ie the fantastic website it is.
We are very proud of this project and feel it will be a very important tool for everyone in our village and our natives throughout the world.
This website is for everyone in Collinstown. I f you are part of a local club, that does not yet have people signed up to provide content on your behalf, please contact us and we will set you up and train you in. If you have an interest in providing some history or general information about the village please contact us. Everyone's contribution is most welcome.
Thank you to everyone who attended our launch event and we hope you enjoyed your evening.
