Have you noticed our new Age Friendly Benches?
Collinstown Action Group have purchased new Age Friendly benches to replace the ones on the Lake Road and in front of the mural in the village. These are composite benches made from recycled plastic and will be easy to maintain and are very strong.
The bench at the mural has a center arm to make it easier to get in and out of, which is important in our Age Friendly Village. The bench on the Lake Road has loads of room either side, perfect for parking a wheelchair or buggy. This is a beautiful spot to sit and take in the unobstructed views of the lake and surrounding fields. We finished it off by planting some primroses at the Lake Road bench .. a spot for the bees.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Eddie Moran and his team in Westmeath County Council for putting down concrete slabs for the benches and for installing the benches for us. It was great to get such helpful support for our project.
