A hive of activity for Collinstown Tidy Towns
Collinstown was busy getting the village ready for the tidy towns judging this evening. The Action Group, Tidy Towns members and a great group from The Hill Residents Association were out sweeping and picking litter and weeds around the village.
Well done to Mick, Denise Fagan & daughter Kendra, Gary and Carol Kelly & their kids Christina, Luke & Leo, Tara Cooney & her daughter Caireann, Louise Grimes & her son Brandon who started at 5.30 and did a great clean up on the Delvin Road. This is a huge help to Tidy Towns and it is great to come together as neighbours and look after the area. Great progress was made and the group are going to make this a regular thing aiming to do a clean up in their area every few weeks.
Damian and Mary Duffy and girls, Martin Griffith and girls, Joe McNally, Joe Potter and Mick Gleeson and his daughter and niece were out sweeping and picking rubbish. There was a lot of ground covered this evening and a good few hours hard work went into it.
Thank you to Paula Mulcahy who borrowed our litter pickers and picked litter on the Lake Road last weekend. We're more than happy to lend out our litter pickers to anyone who would like to do the same.
Judging starts in the coming days and can happen (unannounced) at any stage in June or even July. We would ask everyone to help. Pick up rubbish if you see it. Maybe get the hanging baskets and window boxes organised this weekend. If you were planning on painting the front gate maybe get that job ticked off the list.
Every little helps.
